The Visual Arts and Music – Lyrical Singing in my academic training has allowed me to link these two disciplines and focus my artistic practice on performance. I also explore sound art and video performance, and have gone through some modalities more linked to the visual arts. My training in singing is Soprano Spinto, and I also explore experimental singing, and with this, expanded music. All this for a final product that is delivered to contemporary visual arts. I use singing to explore visual possibilities.

I perform visual translations using and creating vocal performance systems.

I do research on singing and its relationship with the plastic arts.

I reflect on the culture clash and cultural implications between autochthonous and Western cultures. I research, preserve, value, transmit, and disseminate ancestral knowledge, cosmovision, and traditions close to oblivion in tension with lyrical singing.

As soprano interpreter, I represent several characters according to the melodies and their lyrics. This is within the operatic tradition, but I also performer self-referential works, such as a rescuing the practices of my family predecessors, being mainly interested in ancestral healings and spirits, feeling and experiencing sensations since I was a child, and expanding my knowledge with other cultures. In this way, I continue to enrich my experience and transmit it.

I use the body, the voice, and the visual as narrative tools to approach a particular theme. I maintain thematic freedom in my work, but I am very concerned with the problems and needs of each place. These have been related to women, nature, memory, identity, migration, climate change…

My artistic works are like a sonata with several musical movements that enrich my freedom of interpretation, but they are all subject to two instruments: the voice and the visual.
